History

The Alligators started as a 5-piece 50s and 60s band in 1985 and immediately enjoyed success on the local circuit with an Elvis centred repertoire.

In 1990, however, the band reached a much wider audience when getting to the final of Sky TV's 'Search For A Star'.

A tour of Germany soon followed, leading to appearances at major events in the UK alongside many famous artists.

The Alligators played for two years as resident band at the prestigious Elvis Presley Fan Club Festival, Hemsby, playing alongside such artists as Showaddywaddy and Marty Wilde as well as backing some of Elvis's original musicians and making a further TV appearance in a BBC rock documentary.

During the 90s The Alligators worked for the hugely popular Yesterday Once More Rock 'n' Roll Club, making appearances throughout the UK and abroad in such holiday destinations as Ibiza, Majorca, Cyprus and Corfu.

In 2000 The Alligators were pleased to be invited to a re-birth of the Elvis Presley Festival at Hemsby with featured artists such as Suzi Quatro, Alvin Stardust and The Drifters.

More recently the band have featured at Rock n Roll clubs and weekenders up and down the country - always to great acclaim.

Since 2003 the band have been organising their own rock n roll weekends usually in October and at resorts on the West Country coast.
